Sky Pilot furniture is sealed with hand-rubbed “clear satin” polyurethane with a final coat of a paste finishing wax. The finish protects against minor spills, scratches and daily usage. The nature of wood is that it is susceptible to damage unless treated with care. For daily cleaning, use a lightly dampened sponge or soft cotton cloth. Detergents, cleaners (liquids such as ‘Handy Andy’, ‘Spray & Wipe’) and other cleaning agents are suitable. “Harsh” cleaning agents such as ‘Ajax’ should not be used or products containing silicon compounds (such as 'Mr. Sheen'); silicon can imbed itself in the chemical structure of the polyurethane coating making subsequent recoating difficult.
